long weekend ....

was spent eating,
chilling out with family,
visiting, eating,
chilling out ...
you get the idea rite ...
it was a closed loop ...
over and over ... hee ...

on one of the days ...
had a crop sessh with my SIC ...
this was the outcome of mine ...
definitely rusty !
but happy with the bright colours :)
and finished some left-over rub-ons ... yay !

O-boy at 4.5 yrs - doing what he knows best - being CHEEKY !

What ? December already ?

boy, time really flies ...
es-spashly when one is having tonnes of fun ...

so, sweet December arrived ...

i was invited by the good people at KCK at link http://krafersparadise.blogspot.com/2010/12/kck-challenge-4-basic-grey.html

had to work with Basic Grey lines such as Koshi, Origins, Green at Heart, Basics, Cappella ...

i was tasked to create a 12x12 LO that has some hide-and-reveal type features e.g. pocket & tag or concealed journalling ...

here's what i made ...

my hidden messages made using kraft paper and stamps ...

& slipped into the envelopes for safe-keeping ...

I incorporated 2 Maya Road envelopes to contain messages that my husband and I will write to our son. Our hope - when he's older or when we're no longer around, he will be able to read these messages and know how much we love him.

Techniques used:I love layering my layouts, therefore. my most favourite go to item is the KCK 3D Sponge Dots. One problem I face is difficulty in storing my "super-pop-up" layouts :)

Captain O of the High Seas ...

Ahoy me mateys !!!
Arrrrr ....

O-boy's costume for Halloween
held @ school last Wednesday
managed to rustle up an eye patch,
a pirate cap and a plastic sword
that doubles up as a water gun
first 2 were bought @ Spotlight
and last @ Daiso
(ahhh ... bless these 2 shops)

doesn't he look suave with the pirate

hat off to one side and all ... heee ...

he writes ...

O-boy @ 4 years 2 months
these photos are of him taken last Sunday
hehehe ... we (me & him) call it our un-official Sunday School

this is roughly our Sunday morning itenary -
morning milk
laze in bed a couple more mins
look for the work books
search for his pencil case (yes, he has one filled with pencils, Ikea markers and an eraser)

coaxing O-boy to sit at the dining table takes considerable mins

lessons begin ...
he practices his alphabets
after 15 mins (insert loads of bargaining, whining & some tears - not necessarily from O-boy)
he completes some sheets

he runs off to go watch some PHD - completes a show

tv is switched off
back to the dining table
for more writing lessons

as you can see in the photo i used for the LO above ...
he has a nice pencil grip
his alphabets are coming along as well
he has no problems with upper case letters
lower case is a different story altogether ...
letters like b,d,p,n,u confuses him at times

he loves doing numbers too
loves doing puzzles

lessons alternate between TV and writing
that's the only way teacher-momma can get him
to concentrate ....

ofcourse there's recess time ...
O-boy's menu : peanut butter sandwich, muruku, yogurt, cold water, biscuits.

he also loves writing his name on a little notepad
then tearing out the page and slipping the note to me
like little love notes *heart*

that's Sunday School for us ...

piece of bad news ...

this munchkin had a fall at school about 2 weeks ago
he told me that he fell and knocked his front teeth
we thought nothing of it cos he said it wasn't paining him anymore
he could eat & drink cold drinks normally

a few days ago i noticed his left upper tooth turning grey
alerted the hubs
we googled the condition
grey tooth = damaged tooth root = dying tooth
:(:(:(

so yesterday we paid a visit to the dentist
and our fears were confirmed
indeed the tooth is on it's way out

luckily, it isn't causing munchkin any discomfort
so, the dentist advised us to wait and see
as this is his milk teeth
chances are when munchkin's proper teeth show up
it will be normal and not affected by the previous dead tooth

on a brighter note ...
munchkin loves visiting the dentist
wants to go everyday if possible
and was quick to correct me that he gets to see
the dentist 2 times a year when i told him only once a year :)


for now ... we are monitoring the tooth ....

ps-guess who got to eat a choc sundae all to himself (after visiting the dentist, no less) ?? :)

I love SCHOOL

O-boy loves his current school
miss j and miss y are his favourite teachers
his bff's are - jovan, daisuke & fun sheng
he loves gym sessions held @ the auditorium
he loves singing songs
he loves writing his name
(in English and Mandarin)

one for the weekend ...

FOUR's the magic number ...

he celebrated with his classmates ...

he started being shy as he realized that
he was the center of attention

O boy : he's SAD !

wahahahha .... i was rolling on the floor with laughter after hearing this !

on the merry-go-round ...

yes ... O-boy and me ...
and no ....
it's not the nice ones one finds in a circus or fair ...

we are on a BUG merry-go-round ...
it started with O-boy having sniffles + cough the day after the hubs leaves for reservist ...
few days later he gets better ...
then the momma started coughing ...
twas bad ... had to rely on my inhalers ...
by then ... O-boy was back to his nOrmal O-self ...
we travelled back to my mum's place ...
last Sunday O-boy and Q-tie went swimming at the club ...
early hours of Monday ... he woke up delirious ...
his lil body was hOt ... but he was shivering ...
fed him meds and sponged a whole lot ...
his temp has been yo-yo'ing the past 3 days ...and he has a cough that is painful to hear ...
sigh ...

i so wanna get off this not-so-merry-go-round !

and to make matters worse ...
my army guy is coming back one day later than the promised date ...
that deserves a huge B-O-O !!!


on a lighter note ... we met this lil one ...
dee-jay is nearly 6 months old now ...
she's my bro's #2 ...
ain't she a charmer ...

tell me .....

this doesn't just happen to me ...
he's turning 4 in a few months ....
already showing signs of "fake-smile-itis"

everytime i point the cam at him ...either i get a talk to the hand pose,
sticks out his tongue
or this ...
a fake plastered on smile ... sigh ...

WHAT is a momma to do ...

catch him unawares ?
boy is too fast to achieve this feat !

buy a supa-fast-auto cam ?
hb will not cross over to the dark side and buy a Canon !

take a gazillion shots of said boy (and pray hard that one may be a decent one) ?
yeah, been there ... done that ! Editing sucks !

anyhow ... decided not to fight this particular habit of his ...
even made a layout ...
hehehehe ...
am so gonna drag this one out sometime in the future

As we were driving home on the ECP tonite
the hubs notices my sullen mood ....

hubs: why so quiet ?
me: feeling kinda low
(in my mind-monday blues already?!?!)
me: i need something sweet to cheer me up ...
from the back seat O-boy says ... "that would be ME!!"

Oh February ... sigh !!

February is a special month for me ...

nope ....

it's not what you think ...

am not an avid Valentine's Day celebrator ....

this month is special to me because ....

my wedding anniversary falls on the 17 Feb ... it's our 7th !!!

and a few special people in my life are February babies ...

one of which is the hubs on 13th

my lil niece KA on the 20th

my lil brother 23rd

and a close cousin on the 15th

phew ...

there will be loads of pressie's flying around ....

hehehe ...
