we celebrated O-boy's birthday last Sunday

it was scramble time ...
kiddies scrambling everywhere
collecting all the candy goodies ...

5 days shy ...

O-boy is that many days shy of turning THREE !

sorry for not updating my blog sooner ...

been a little busy preparing

for O's birthday ....

ole mummy here was rather ambitious ...

i set out to make his party packs, invites, birthday banner

and a bunch of other crafty stuff ....

soon i realized that it was too much an undertaking

so , i discarded the invites ...

i was left to do his banner and party packs !

phew !

banner took a few nights ...

glad to report that it is completed ....

all "HAPPY BIRTHDAY OMAR KOH EE" !!!!

double phew ...

now have to think of how to hang the banner come Sunday ..

next, came the party packs ...

i must have made approx 50 of those packs

half for his party and other half for his

classmates from MG and LW ....

being a total novice at party planning ...

i had to do a little scouting

of what items to place in the packs

being ever so mindful of not

loading it with too many sweeties ....

heee .... i kept the sweets to minimum (sorry kiddos)

cos i remember cringing when i saw

what was in some of the party packs

O-boy has received in the past ...

so ... party packs made and packed ... checked !

kinda felt guilty for not providing much

interms of sweets for the party ...

i mean what's a party without sweets rite ?!?

ole mummy then had brilliant plan

of getting a pinata as part of the

kiddies entertainment

..... and guess what ???

last weekend O-boy, hubs and me

had a good time stuffing the pinata with

LOADS of sweet gooodies !!!!!

promise to post pics of the day

made this layout sometime back

only had the chance to load it today

love the photo of O-boy

living loud and so totally like him to have

his tutu in the mouth and

my green hairband as headphones !

made some teacher's day cards for O-boy's teachers

2 years, 11 months, 2 days ....

and we finally got our king sized bed back ... all to ourselves ...
heee ...
O-boy has moved out of our bed and into his own room with his own bed ...
transition has been quite smooth ...
no tears or meltdowns (both him and the mummy)
few hiccoughs though ...
he wakes up me up and drags me to his room ...
and when he falls asleep again ...
i sneak off back to my bed ...
this is repeated 2-3x these past 3 nites ...

so, if you spot a panda-eyed woman travelling from bedok to buona vista ...
that will be me ...

no regrets though ...
we (O and me) are learning to be independent of each other ...
all part of growing up ...

but, how i miss his warm little body next to mine ... sigh ...

on a brighter note ...

chosen as this month's winner ...
the one with O-boy and the tub of nutella ... hee ...
a very nice surprise ...

i am looking forward to the long weekend ...

of dirty laundry and F1-trainees ....

work/studies have been pretty hectic these past few weeks ... so when the weekend came i welcomed it with open arms ... i planned to sit back and throw the legs up and do nothing ...

ofcourse that never is the case ... you see , this is when i play catch up with all the household chores that i neglected during the weekday ... long story short ....

with all the necessary house stuff done i was left tired and cranky ...

i thought dragging out the scrap-schtuff might lighten the heart ... alas , no hope , nada ... stared at my loot for ages .... until i managed to squeeze out this layout ... and boy, this one took ages ... a-g-e-s .... to complete ...

must admit that looking at the finished LO did make my heart lighter ...

this one is about Koh Ee and Koh Ann (my niece - the lady behind the wheels)- what a pair you 2 make !

Oh plum plum plum ....

I cracked open my Vintage Plum Kit (June 09)

and made this layout in time for

MWL mid month challenge

hosted by Pooi ....

had tough time piling up the embellies ... and I think

it may not be as embellie-heavy as the other entries ....

anyways, am glad I took on this challenge cos

God only knows that I am a embelliphobic person ...

for example :

I have major issues with flowers ...

don't get me wrong ....

paper cut outs of flowers I can handle

BUT .....

when it comes to things like Prima flowers ..... I freeze !!!

I really can't seem to use them or know where to place them ...

I take them out ... look at them ... and ... put them back !

case closed !

Next, I buy many many many journaling tags ....

where are they ???

hmmm .... somewhere underneath the mountain

of papers at home ... banished ...

cos I have given up hope of

locating a suitable place for them on my LO's ;(

my conclusion :

I think I need some scrap therapy ... no SIC ... not retail therapy ;)

till I sort out my issues with embellishing ...

Love came in a PINK box ....

... my Pink Paislee grab box arrived last nite (*thank you mr. DHL*) and boy i am amaaaazed at how much pink-love was crammed into it ... it's crazeee ... twas just endless !!
Anyways, promised some gals that i'd post pics of my loot ... here's what i received in the box ...
happy oogling ... so, when you coming over ? ... we'll have a Pink crop, kay ...

My poor lil ducky ...

... is down with fever AGAIN !!!

Just when I thought it was safe to blog about his previous one which was in May ... sigh ... the hubs reassures me that this is common among school going kiddies ... they may be afflicted almost every month ... somehow i don't feel assured ... double sigh ... i guess my poor ducky has to learn to fight these bugs to build his own immunity armour ...

so there we were ... the designated mommy nurse (who has the flu - yuck!) and the feverish duck ... at home ... taking temps ... spooning meds ... sponging forehead ... blowing noses ... watching PHD together ... riding out those d*mn fevers ...

am thankful that duck is quite a good patient ... wasn't cranky, quacky or unreasonable ... however, he was a little more subdued yesterday ... not the usual active self ...

while he napped yesterday ... i had some free time ... managed to complete this LO ... journaling my thoughts/feelings/frustrations watching my ducky battle his fever ...

today ... nurse mommy is glad to report that the duck is much better ... almost 70% his normal self ... last high fever reading was at 6 am ... for which he woke mommy nurse when he started talking non-sense (hee ... he does this when the fever wakes him. when he was younger and not talking yet, he would cry to wake me up) ... *fingers crossed* the fever will stay away ...

What a character !!

I was cleaning up files on my laptop when I found a bunch of photos of O-boy taken before we left for KL. It was also the time when he had swinging high fever (38 was lowest and 39.8 the highest). So, me and him stayed at home as I nursed his fever.
I took this photo of him cos as you can see ... even with a rip roaring fever he still manages to look happy (PlayHouse Disney on the telly did help ... sooo grateful to Starhub)
Oh ... and see the green hairband he has on his head ... Yeah ! Mine ! That's how he wears it - like headphones. Don't ask me why but he loves my green hairband.
Hmmm ... mental note to self, get the Papa to spend more time with O-boy ... yikes !
He's fine now, all systems go go go ! Emm... yeah, he is a character all rite ! Full of spunk and life !

to be honest ...

we got back Monday nite ..

been busy ..

trying to catch up with

work and the house is a mess

etc etc...

Gosh, think I need another

holiday just to recover from

the one I just had ! :(

We (hubs, O and I) went to PJ and from there

travelled to ChaingMai with my parents.

Sunny Saturday at the park ...

we woke pretty early on Sat morning
and headed out to the park nearby

convinced ol'hubs to bring out the camera
was extremely glad he did cos we managed
to get some awesome shots of O-boy flying his kite
needless to say O-boy had tonnes of fun
giggling and shrieking seeing his kite in the air
..
..... made one little boy's day !

i never knew painting

could be so much FUN

till yesterday ....

as i watched my white CS

turn into THIS (above)

with just a little paint !

i am so glad i decided to

go for Celine Nevarro's layout class

held at my LSS yesterday...

take home message for me :

Beautiful Saturday ...

today, was spent with

my sweet lil niece and

beautiful sista-in-crime ML ..

we left both the daddies

around mid-morning

to do their man-thang

and headed to a cool

place to hang out and chill

we ended up at MWL at PS

tee hee... the kiddies were

happy but the mommies

were happier to be

surrounded by soooo much

scrap barangs !!!

later the daddies joined us

had some lunch

and off to class i went ...

managed to get a seat

in CN's layout class

it was SUPERB !!!

so totally out of my comfort zone ..

techniques were totally

new to me.... hahaha

i'm very traditional lah...

only paper, scissors and glue

so, today... i finally held a

heat gun (pls dun laugh k)

finally knew how to emboss

(aiyah, i paiseh already)

finally got to try glimmer misting

(this was fun)

and did ALOT of hand painting !!!

I am blessed ...

O-boy came home on Friday

with this card

he made at playschool

which he presented to me

accompanied with a hug

and "i love you, mummy" message

i looked at it

and burst out crying

words just can't describe

this feeling of pride, love and

blessed-ness which rushed

into my heart all at once

thank you baby for coming

into my life and

making it a beautiful one !
